Builder of the Year Dinner

Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County honored Brian Petrequin, Esq. of LeClairRyan and Michael Fields, First Vice President, Valley National Bank at their Third Annual Builder of the Year dinner on April 24, 2008 at Casino in the Park Restaurant in Jersey City. Petrequin, an officer in LeClairRyan’s corporate group, is a board member of Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County and has provided many hours of pro bono counseling and legal support to the Hudson County affiliate. Fields is Valley National Bank’s community reinvestment act officer and has been a strong supporter of affordable housing for low- and moderate- income persons. Valley National Bank is a generous sponsor of Habitat affiliates throughout New Jersey and New York communities.

“I am delighted that we will soon begin building on two properties in Jersey City,” said Margaret Cook-Levy, president of Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County. “This has been made possible by the support of individuals such as Mr. Petrequin and Mr. Fields and the companies they represent.”

Past Builder of the Year honorees were Paul M. Pantozzi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Provident Bank, Richard Mackiewicz Jr., Esquire, and the Honorable Thomas A. DeGise, Hudson County Executive.

The annual dinner raises money for Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County to work in partnership with people in need decent, affordable housing. The houses then are sold to those in need at no profit and with no interest charged.
