Wed May 5 — 2010 BUILDER OF THE YEAR DINNER

CONSTRUCTION:  We're going through the trials and tribulations of final inspections where all we've done goes under the microscope of local building inspectors.  There is still plenty to do.  We need to clean and grade and plant the back yard of the Nelson home as well as do the nitty gritty detailed clean up of the homes so we can get our families in the door.  Be on the look out for the next update when we'll have the date for our housewarming dedication! Please volunteer your time to help finish these homes.   Contact Volunteer Coordinator [ email ] or call  201.209.9002!  Thank you!

FUND RAISING :  We need volunteers to work on our Builder of the Year dinner which will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2010.  We need volunteers to sell ads, raise funds, solicit auction items and send invitations.  Please contact [ publicrelatioins@habitathudsoncounty.org ].  Thank you!

ORITANI BANK - We had the pleasure of a visit from Kevin Lynch, Chairman, President and CEO of Oritani Bank. The Oritani Bank is a major corporate sponsor of our Habitat and Habitat affiliates in Central and Northern New Jersey. He joined us recently on a tour of 476 Ocean Ave and met with the soon-to-be owners Nelson and Rosa Felix.  We thank the Oritani staff, its foundation and customers for their generous donations helping us to fulfill our mutual goal of providing simple, decent affordable housing.  Also at the tour were Margaret Cook-Levy, past president, Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County, Santos Murillo, executive director, Habitat for Humanity of Hudson County; and our partner family who will buy the house at 476 Ocean Avenue, Rosa and Nelson Felix.  Check out our Photo Gallery for new photos!
